I graduated from Murray State University in December 2010 with my certification in Elementary Education and began as a substitute teacher in Christian County.  I began my full-time teaching career at South Christian Elementary School where I taught 3rd grade Reading/Science/Social Studies for my first year.  After that year, I taught 1st grade reading for one year and 2nd grade reading for 2 years.  I transferred to Freedom Elementary to teach 1st grade reading & writing for one year.  I then taught Reading Intervention for grades 3-5 for one year.  From there, I taught 3rd grade reading for one year and then Special Education-LBD for one year.  I am currently teaching Kindergarten.

I was born and raised in good ole Hopkinsville, KY.  I am married with 3 children...14 year old (girl), 8 year old (girl), and 6 year old (boy).  We have 2 doodles and a bearded dragon.  When I am not teaching, my time is spent with my family and friends.  Many days, time is spent running my kids to their extracurricular activities, watching my husband ref or coach soccer and softball, walking the dogs, helping with homework...but wouldn't have it any other way.  We enjoy the beach, vacations, ball games, the outdoors, animals, family movies (especially Disney) and just being silly together.

I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was 12 years old.  At the age of 12, I began babysitting children ages 2-5.  Even though my first job at age 16 (taxes withheld lol) didn't involve children, I still wanted to work with children.  After working for attorneys for a while, I was definitely sure children were my calling. I began working at a daycare/preschool center for a few years and then I was hired with Christian County School District as an Attendance Clerk.  I went back to college to become a teacher....and here I am :)
